Immigration & Border Security
Katie believes in secure borders, real public safety, and a government that is accountable for every dollar it spends. Here are answers to the questions neighbors across HD 94 ask her most about immigration and border security.
-
Katie believes in secure borders and real public safety. She knows every family in Arlington, the Mid-Cities, and across Texas deserves to feel safe, and a secure border is part of that.
She also knows that lasting solutions require comprehensive immigration reform at the federal level. Texas can't fix a broken federal system on its own, and Katie will keep pushing Washington to do its job.
-
At the state level, Katie supports a layered, collaborative, needs-based approach. That means real coordination between state law enforcement, local law enforcement, and the border communities who live with these challenges every day. She believes the people closest to the problem should have a seat at the table when we decide how to solve it.
-
Texas taxpayers have spent billions of dollars on state border initiatives like Operation Lone Star. Katie believes that whatever you think about the program, you deserve to know where that money went and what it accomplished.
She will push for full transparency and accountability, with real evidence of results. If a program is working, the state should be able to show it. If it isn't, those dollars should go to what keeps Texans safe.
-
Every dollar the state spends is a dollar that could go to our public schools, lower property taxes, or local public safety. Families here budget carefully, and they expect Austin to do the same. Good stewardship of taxpayer money isn't a partisan issue. It's just good government.
-
Our police officers and sheriff's deputies work hard to keep Tarrant County safe, and Katie believes they need the resources to do it. She supports real coordination between state and local agencies, backed by funding, not unfunded mandates handed down from Austin.
Public safety works best when every resident feels comfortable calling 911, reporting a crime, or serving as a witness. Katie wants policies that strengthen that trust so our officers can do their jobs well.
-
Texas industries like construction, health care, and agriculture depend on a strong workforce, and many employers across North Texas say they can't find enough workers. Katie believes an orderly, legal immigration system helps keep our economy growing and our costs down.
Katie has spent 15 years leading a global business team, and she has seen firsthand that people from different backgrounds make a team stronger. That's true for Texas too.
-
Katie supports comprehensive federal reform that secures the border, clears the backlog in our legal immigration system, and creates clear, lawful pathways for workers and families. Those decisions are made in Washington, and she will use her voice in Austin to call for them.
-
As a mom of two Arlington ISD students and a longtime PTA volunteer, Katie believes every child in a Texas classroom deserves a great education and a safe place to learn. Our schools do their best work when families feel welcome and involved.

Many Dreamers were brought here as young children and have grown up in our neighborhoods, graduated from our high schools, and now work and pay taxes here. Katie supports a permanent federal solution that gives them certainty and lets them keep contributing to the only home they've ever known.
