You read that right. Cheryl supports a 19% sales tax on everyone.
While families are struggling, Cheryl wants to make everything more expensive by more than doubling the tax our families pay on groceries, clothing, and every day essentials.
Get the Facts:
Cheryl may pretend she doesn’t want to raise our taxes, but read her own words for yourself. Cheryl Bean told the Dallas Morning News she believes we must “increase local sells [sales] tax.”
In comments written to the Dallas Morning News, House District 94 nominee Cheryl Bean proposed a tax move that would result in a massive increase in local sales taxes paid by Tarrant County families. Currently, a combined state and local sales tax of 8.25% is charged on most items purchased. If Cheryl Bean gets her way, the sales tax will more than double to an eye-popping 19.6%.
Here’s the math Cheryl doesn’t want you to see:
Read Cheryl’s own words about increasing your taxes to 19.6%, and read the Lone Star Project’s full report.
What This Means for Tarrant County Families:
Taxes on a $75 pair of shoes goes from $6.18 to $14.70
Taxes on a $400 lawn mower goes from $33.00 to $78.40
Taxes on a $800 set of car tires go from $66.00 to $156.80
Taxes on a $1,500 refrigerator goes from $123.75 to $294.00
Our families can’t afford Cheryl’s 19% sales tax.
On November 3, vote NO on Cheryl Bean.
In this election, we have a clear choice.
